Playmobil Wine Bar
Ok, I'm not sure if I think this is hilarious, wrong or both. (Honestly, I'm leaning towards hilarious and I don't even drink.) It seems as though the German-based company that makes Playmobil has come up with a wine bar set based on real-life wine experts. Of course, some parents are outraged and there is even a threat of an embargo. Read more about the controversy here. Don't keep your opinion bottled up -- let us know what you think. -- E. This was posted on March 31. An April Fools Day joke, don't you think?

When will the brothel playset be released?

Well, I was just in West Palm Beach, Fl, home to PlayMobil's US retail outpost and "FunPark." The store often features exclusives and there was most certainly no wine bar set offered for sale. There was however a college kegger set.

Have you seen the PlayMobil Colosseum? Comes complete with Romans, gladiators, lions and Christians you little one can toss to their deaths. Playmobil #4270.

"When will the brothel playset be released?"
Because social drinking and illicit, often exploitative sex are equivalent acts.

Playmobile is notoriously and refreshingly non-PC, and provides a remarkable range of "sets" that help introduce children to history. My 3 year old owns a proper and complete roman legion, equipped with spider catapult, and about nine gallic warriors for him to pacify and oppress.
For his birthday, he's getting a Templar Knight (4670) to protect any Playmobil pilgrims that may journey to Jerulsalem, along with an Arabian warrior (4691) to protect them from.

While not quite the equal of SI's legendary "Sidd Finch" or the BBC's TV report on the 1957 Swiss spaghetti harvest, this is one of the better April Fool's jokes I've ever seen. The miniaturized De Long Wine Grape Varietal Table is the cherry on the dessert.

Hilarious. I'd love to be there to hear the pretend dialogue the kids would supply while playing with this set. "I don't know, Petra, this pinot is a little plummy for my tastes."

I would never buy this for my kids. Do you want your kids to grow up serving a nice pinot in flared stemware? And the gals in the bar, they should look more Vixen-ish. These gals look like PTA refugees. The guys are pretty hip, though. Dig the camel coat over flannel. Very Northwest Chic.

I looked up the Gladiator Arena and can't find the Christians. Are they an add-on? And when do we get the Golgotha and Masada sets to round out the early Roman empire?

Would there be an issue if the toy in question was a replica of Jesus turning water in to wine?
Elmo----I ordered the Sodom and Gemora set that lights itself on fire.

This article explains how to create and save an xml file, and then how to bind it to a treeview, but I think it falls far short of what the title promises.
